If you are like most people, you have used things around the house for purposes other than what they are intended for. How often have you used a screwdriver as a wood chisel or to open a can of paint?
I don’t know how many times we have used our gas range to heat the house during a power outage. Maybe that’s not the smartest thing in the world to do, but it’s better than freezing and it doesn’t stink up the house like a kerosene heater does. Besides, I’m not real comfortable using those anyway.
But did you know that some of your common household appliances can be used for a variety of things that probably wouldn’t occur to most people.
Take your dishwasher, for example. The Daily Meal recently published an article on “7 Things You Didn’t Know Your Dishwasher Could Do”.
To tell you the truth, following some of these tips would make me reluctant to eat off the same dishes afterward, but that’s a story for another time.
