This has to be the ultimate overindulgence for today’s pampered society, especially if you are a Star Wars fan. Sorry I can’t include an image, as they are copyrighted.

On a side note, can you believe it’s been nearly 40 years since Star Wars came out and they are still milking it for every cent it’s worth.

I’m still a little fuzzy on who Haier Asia is, but apparently they are making a R2D2 refrigerator available sometime in 2016. It doesn’t really matter who they are, because I’m betting the average citizen won’t be able to afford one anyway. But if you are a Star Wars fan and have money to burn, this has to be one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. It’s something to look forward to.

The R2D2 refrigerator not only stores and cools your favorite beverages, it brings them to you, complete with lights, sounds, and movement.
I have to admit that I am on the fence about this one. While it would be cool to own one, have we really become so lazy that we can’t get out of our chair and walk to the fridge for a beer or whatever refreshment that you prefer? But that’s a story for another time.

I can’t do this story justice, so I’ll just let you get the details here.

While we are on the subject of Star Wars, ThinkGeek has come out with a refrigerator that features an image of Han Solo frozen in carbonite from Star Wars 2: The Empire Strikes Back. It retails for only $150, which I’m sure is much more affordable that R2D2.
